Customized Coaching
When you commit to doing your inner work, the benefits ripple outward in ways you cannot yet imagine. Your relationships deepen. Your leadership transforms. Your parenting improves. Your creativity opens up. Life gets so much better. Richer. Fulfilling. This is not self improvement for its own sake. This is the work that transforms you from the inside out. Working with Katie you will have a dedicated space to explore, heal and grow at the level that creates lasting change rather than temporary relief. Whether you come as an executive ready to break through a ceiling, or a creative ready to reclaim an aspect of yourself, the work begins in the same place, within.
We begin with a comprehensive look at every area of your life, alongside a clear vision of what authentic success truly means for you. As your coach, I'll support you in uncovering what has been standing between you and the life you want, including the creative parts of you that have been set aside for too long.
Together we work though the inner blocks that have held you back, and I give you practical tools to make sure you don't get stuck there again. From there we create a personalized action plan built around your dreams, with measurable goals and a clear pathway forward. I serve as your trusted advisor, cheerleader, sounding board, accountability partner, and the person who will always tell you the truth. My job is simple: to help you keep growing, and to see you succeed.
Katie Shapiro has been coaching since 2009. She hold's a Master's Degree in Spiritual Psychology, is a Certified Life Coach, and holds an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. Before dedicating herself fully to coaching and art, she built a long and successful career in corporate American as a Community Relations executive. But the most meaningful preparation for this work has come from life itself. Katie has done her own hard and humbling work of healing, continually, in a way that real growth requires. Most recently she has been navigating the adventure of relocating from SoCal to the English Countryside with her husband and two young children. Finding herself again through art and incorporating it into coaching has transformed her life and work yet again.
"We all have inner wisdom to help us handle life’s challenges. However, we often need support working through blocks in order to reach our highest potential. This is where Coaching comes in."
Whether you have a big heartfelt dream or simply feel stuck, our work together will be customized to you. Because no two people are stuck in the same place, and no two paths forward look the same.
At the end of the day, the only person that can truly move your life forward is you. BUT by working with me you give yourself an undeniable advantage. I don't solve your problems. I empower you to solve them yourself, with the tools, the clarity, and the support to do it in a way that lasts.
What you learn during our time together will be useful and applicable for the rest of your life.
I bring deep listening, genuine compassion, complete confidentiality, and an intuitive ability to cut through the noise and find the real thing that needs attention. You will have my full focused presence on your goals, your blocks and your growth.
For clients who are open to it, I also weave in gentle creative practices, because sometimes the most direct route to your inner world is not through conversation but through making something with your hands.
Sessions are conducted via Zoom. A minimum commitment is required because real and lasting change takes time, and that commitment gives us the space to go deep enough to make it stick.

What is the difference between Therapy and Coaching?
Therapy and Coaching are both valuable and the serve different purposes.
Therapy generally focuses on exploring the past and healing old wounds. Coaching is about creating the future you want. We may touch on the past in our work together because sometimes we need to understand what is in the way, but we won't stay there. The focus is always forward.
There is absolutely room for both in a person's journey. Sometimes they run alongside each other beautifully. Sometimes you feel complete with therapy for now and are ready for the momentum and challenge that coaching provides. Only you can know which season you are in.
For more info read my post on Therapy vs. Coaching.
What is Spiritual Psychology?
Spiritual Psychology is about looking at your life through a radically different lens.
What if we are souls having a human experience? What if the challenges we face are not obstacles to our growth but the actual material of it? What are we here to learn, and how is everything that is happening in our lives serving that learning? These are the kinds of questions that can change everything.
I received my Master's Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, where I also received my coaching certification. If you would like to explore it further their website has a wonderful in depth explanation of the philosophy and approach. Please visit the University of Santa Monica website.
What kind of Life Coaching do you do? And who are your clients?
What is the difference between Religion and Spirituality?
This is a question I love because it helps so many people feel safe enough to explore this work.
Spirituality as I practice and teach it is not about religion, though it is completely compatible with whatever religious beliefs or practices you hold. It is about awakening into the conscious experience of unconditional love in the here and now, not as a future destination but as a present reality.
As the Drs Hulnick write in their book Loyalty to Your Soul, all major religions accept unconditional love and compassion as their core teaching. Spiritual psychology simply offers a framework for embodying those qualites in everyday life.
Practicing spiritual psychology will not interfere with your faith. If anything, most people find it compliments it.
